Case Studies
Toro Fairway Mower Roller
PEP worked closely with Toro engineers to develop a replacement roller on a new mower head design. The design involved an overlay of molded UHMW-PE onto an aluminum machined tube. This concept offered significant weight reduction, a non-stick highly durable surface and cost reduction. Several proto-types were presented and rigorously tested ultimately leading to a successful design. PEP built all the molds and completes all machining and molding operations in house.
Martin Engineering
What material would withstand and absorb the constant pounding of large rocks and boulders? PEP engineered a cushion of molded rubber to UHMW-PE and a steel base to provide the rigidity, wear characteristics and durability to stand up to this abuse.
Landscape Structures
When LS needed a wear surface to stand up to years of tough duty at playgrounds they turned to the inexpensive benefits of molded UHMW-PE. PEP prepared prototype parts quickly with an in house router and ultimately made compression molds to move the production to the new process.
Airens
The scraping edge of a snow blower takes a great deal of abuse. Molded UHMW-PE provides the unique shape required, plus the durability and does these attributes at an attractive cost.
C&A Pro
Imaging the abuse a snowmobile ski encounters in race conditions. Molded UHMW-PE provides the strength, shock absorption and wear characteristics to stand up this abuse. PEP manufactures the entire line of C&A Pro skis. C&A is the stand out leader in the aftermarket snowmobile ski industry supplying skis to over 85% of the market. When you look down the line at the championship round at the X-Games, all riders are on
C&A Pro skis.
May Wes
May Wes has been in business for over 35 years supplying UHMW components for high wear areas of various farm machines. PEP molds such items as planter wheels, wear skids for combines, retractable combine fingers and many other products.
